Safe Bicycling Classes for Kids & Parents!

The following course is a must for all kids biking to school or around their neighborhood! All kids and parents should learn how to bicycle safely with traffic. This helps save lives in 4 ways: 1) bicyclists know how to be safe with motor vehicles, 2) vehicle drivers know how to be safe around bicyclists, 3) bicyclists save our world by minimizing fossil fuel use, and 4) bicycling helps keep bodies healthy (sitting is the new smoking).

Cupertino is offering 4 bike safety workshops to prepare 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to bike to school and around their neighborhoods. Students and their accompanying parent/guardian will learn how to ride safely with traffic by watching a short presentation, practicing bike handling skills in a parking lot, then going on a supervised group bike ride through Cupertino neighborhoods.

Student and parent should both bring a bike and helmet. This half-day Middle School Bike Skills workshop is offered in partnership with Wheel Kids. Each 1/2 day class is 8:30am – 1pm on: Sunday June 30, Saturday July 27, Sunday August 25, or Saturday September 21 Location: Cupertino Senior Center, 21251 Stevens Creek Blvd Cost: $110 (for each student-parent pair) Bring a snack & lunch to eat during the class Register at: http://wheelkids.com/msbs-cupertino/
