We have some big news to share! Seema Lindskog, Chair of Walk Bike Cupertino, is running for Cupertino City Council in the November 2026 election. Her accomplishments with Walk Bike Cupertino have been numerous and substantial, affecting all those who walk or bike in our city. To be able to focus all her energies on that run, she’s taking a step back from leading Walk Bike Cupertino. Hervé Marcy is stepping up as Incoming Chair to lead the organization starting in November.
Hervé has been an active WBC board member for years. He walks and bikes around town regularly, coaches and serves on the board of the Cupertino Little League, and has served for 3 ½ years as a Bike Ped Commissioner for the City of Cupertino. He believes in our mission inside and out, and he is the right person to keep us moving forward.
Meet Hervé Marcy, new Incoming Chair of WBC
Hervé has lived in Cupertino since 2020 and has deep connections to the community. His children attend the local CUSD schools and both he and his wife are deeply involved in their kids’ school PTO. He organized Ruby Bridges Walk and Roll Days, getting kids and families out walking and biking to school together.
Hervé can often be seen around town biking to work or to his favorite coffee shop. His role as a Bike Ped Commissioner for the City of Cupertino over the past few years has allowed him to get a deep understanding of the state of walking and biking in the city and how it can be made safer and more enjoyable. He helped deliver significant improvements on Rodrigues Ave, on Torre near the library, and for buffered bike lanes on DeAnza Blvd. The City Council recently voted 4-1 for Hervé to represent the city at the VTA Bike Ped Advisory Committee meetings. Hervé’s multicultural background, after growing up in France, Germany, and Switzerland, has informed his views on how safety-focused walking and biking infrastructure and policy can improve the quality of life for residents of all ages.
A Note from Seema
Serving as the Chair of Walk Bike Cupertino for the past five years has been the honor of my life. Thank you for giving me the privilege of serving our common goals and for your steadfast support. Together with the WBC board and community supporters, we have achieved more than I ever dreamed. We’ve put Cupertino on the map as one of the most walking and biking friendly cities in Silicon Valley. We’ve grown the organization to several thousand supporters.
We have delivered the Regnart Creek Trail which is now the most used trail in the city, many walking and biking safety improvements near schools, safer intersections, protected or buffered bike lanes on major streets, the city’s first two-way bikeway at Lawson Middle School, a Vision Zero Plan, Safe Routes to School maps and programs like the CHS Bike Bus and the Eaton Elementary Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. Every year, we help the city organize the Cupertino Bike Fest and we give away hundreds of bike helmets to children in need. We were an early and steadfast supporter of the Dog Off-Leash Areas (DOLAs). And so much more.
Through all of this, Hervé has been a fantastic partner on the Walk Bike Cupertino Board and I can’t imagine a better qualified person to take the reins of the organization during my absence. I’m excited to be passing the baton to someone who cares as much as I do about the safety and health of children in our community and has a track record of delivering for them. I can’t wait to see where WBC goes next. I’ll be cheering him on from the sidelines!
A Note from Hervé
Seema made such an impact for the residents of Cupertino and for Walk Bike Cupertino, it is a tall order to follow in her steps as lead of the organization, but I am incredibly excited about what WBC will do in the future. We will continue to promote safe and convenient walking and biking in our city: we will engage in community building, keep our community informed through our popular newsletter, and push for projects at the City level. We will keep working with all stakeholders to promote our common-sense agenda of safety for pedestrians and cyclists: WBC is from the community, for the community.

What This Means for WBC
Our mission does not change. We continue to push for safe streets, connected trails, and a Cupertino where walking and biking are easy choices for residents of all ages and abilities.
