At the Aug 15, 2017 City Council meeting, City Staff presented to the council the 50 page results and recommendations of the community-wide Safe Routes walk audit report conducted by Alta Design Group. Also at the meeting, Council approved $299,935 for a study of the proposed I-280 Channel Trail (inside the soundwall) that would run from Mary Ave. to Wolfe Road.
Staff also proposed a $259,889 contract to study the proposed Union Pacific Bike/Ped trail from Prospect Road to Stevens Creek Blvd. Council deferred decision on this contract pending preliminary discussions with Union Pacific to assess the viability of such a partnership.
