Since the item was on the consent calendar, Staff did not make a formal report as the Council prefers to just give a blanket “OK” to everything on the Consent Calendar and move on.
However, since one person spoke opposing the program, then I, Revathy and 2 others spoke in favor of it. However, the person speaking in opposition is a friend of mine and she brought up a few reasonable concerns which have never even been discussed, so I did try to achieve a balance and also stated that I understand her concerns and think that we should all work together to continue to make the program better.
Council approved and asked Staff to come back in 9 months with an update.
